Here at Twig + Tale, natural materials are always our first choice where suitable.
Luckily it is relatively easy to make your own waterproof fabric from natural materials. The resulting fabric is an environmentally-friendly option with impressive longevity.
You will need:
- Sturdy natural fabric - cotton canvas, duck or drill are ideal.
- Waterproofing product such as Otter Wax or Bee Kind waterproofing bars, or view the video below on how to make your own waterproofing balm.
- Heat gun or a hair dryer.
Please note, it is best to sew the garment prior to waxing.
