Twig + Tale Size Chart Info

For a good fit, we urge you to look at your actual body measurements rather than using the referenced standard sizes. All Twig + Tale patterns provide instruction on how to take accurate measurements for a great fit.

We know that making something by hand is an act of love - and we wish for you to have a beautiful garment that fits your own unique body shape.  

Women/Curved Fit

Note that "Straight and Curved fit" aren't a reference to "plus-sizes", but rather body shapes (curved meaning having a bust).  It is a naming convention that offers an alternative to traditional gendered labels. 

Our new sizing system (Sept 2022) is available in sizes 0-38 which runs to a 65" (165cm) full chest and a 72" (183cm) hip.  

We offer two ranges:  A-L (0-22) which carries directly on from our children's sizes and also includes youth/tween sizing, and H-T (14-38).  

Future patterns will be developed in these two size ranges.  We will continue to update existing patterns.

Women/Curved Fit - Older Sizing

Please note: The Trailblazer Vest, Forester Coat and associated add-ons are still to be updated to our 0-38 (A-T) size range, and are currently available in our original sizing range of A-N.  This goes to a 51.5” (130.8cm) full bust and a 53.5” (135.9cm hip) as detailed in the chart below (you may need to scroll to the side, to reach the right hand edge of the chart).

Our new Men's/Straight Fit size chart is available in sizes 30-66  which goes to a 66" (167.5cm) chest and a 66"(167.5cm) hip.  

We offer two ranges 30-52 which carries directly on from our children's sizes and also includes youth/tween sizing, and 46-66".

Mens Straight Fit Size Chart - Twig + Tale Sewing Patterns

 

Future Men's/Straight fit patterns will be developed in these two size ranges. 

Currently Grove Coat is graded to a size 66, however only released to a 60 as we have been unable to source testers in sizes 63 and 66.  Let us know if you can help!

Approximate size/age as follows:

Baby Sizes 
Size 1: 0-3m
Size 2: 3-6m
Size 3: 6-9m
Size 4: 9-12m
Size 5: 12-18m

Child Sizes
Sizes 6-13: approximate ages 18 months  to 6 years.
Sizes Youth 1-4: approximate ages 6 to 9 years.

The adult sizes continue on from where the child sizes finish.
