Meadow Skirt Adaptive Waistband options for pregnancy and sensory sensitivity - By Twig + Tale

Included Adaptive Add-on:  Sensory Sensitivity + Pregnancy Waistbands
An alternative to the regular elastic waistband, these stretchy-knit waistbands may be helpful for those with sensory sensitivities such as not tolerating elastic at the waist, or simply for greater comfort.

The pregnancy waistband is essentially same as the sensory waistband, with more height for additional coverage. The pregnancy version can be worn full height or folded over.

These adaptive pattern pieces are supplied in Print-at-Home, A0 Copyshop and Projector format.

        Such a cute skirt

I made skirts for my two youngest and they love them. We are First Nations (Indigenous) and used it to make a ribbon skirt. I love the options and construction, I will make more of these! And I love that T+T offers projector files.

        Great Skirt Pattern

This is a lovely pattern. I made the maxi length with gathers and a tie. I like the versatility and options. The waistband construction was also different, took me reading the instructions a couple times but I liked how it was done. It gave it a cleaner finish for the topstitching of the bottom edge, usually a big sore spot for me. I can see myself making more of these for sure!

        Great as always

This was the perfect pattern for some special fabric I got on a trip to Lisbon. Clear instructions as always. I wish I had lengthened the elastic a bit but otherwise it’s perfect.

        Always gets compliments

I made the Meadow Skirt, along with the Vista top, as part of my first ever me made outfit! This pattern was a bit more difficult for me because of the elastic in the back. I’d recommend cutting your elastic a bit longer than is suggested to give you wiggle room. I did fudge up my side seams but no one can tell and I always get compliments on the skirt. People always think I bought it!

I made a size M in the below the knee length (I’m 5ft 4in) and it is long enough to bend over in or sit on the floor without revealing everything. The fabric is a yellow crinkle cotton. Next time I want to make one with the tie, I regret not adding it to this one but I can dress it up or down as it is.

        Even I could sew this!

I am still very much a novice sewist, but Twig and Tale offer such detailed instructions, I was able to make two skirts for my granddaughter. She needed uniform friendly skirts, but desperately wanted pockets -- because we all need pockets. I'm pleased with the results and she is as well. I'm looking forward to making fun versions of the skirt next.

        Beautiful

I made a skirt from an old bedsheet, in the T+T spirit. The instructions in the tutorial made it easy to sew it and get a beautiful finish.

I love the many option in this pattern. One pattern, many options for different looks

        Love it!

I now have three of these skirts. (Two made from thrifted bedding) and every time I put my hand in the pockets I think of well made this skirt/pattern is! I have made other clothes before. but none of them have been this perfect!

Absolutely adorable & it has pockets

I’m in love with this skirt. I put it together in an afternoon. I used scraps from a quilt. And pieced leftovers together to make my “fabric”. Am so excited to make more. And of course I love anything that has pockets.

Love it for so many reasons.

One of my very favourite skirt patterns - I’ve made at least half a dozen at this point and will likely be making more. It’s so thoughtfully drafted and I love the available options. It’s easy to sew, and the only adjustments I ever have to make are due to my (lack of) height. As a bonus, it works well in so many different fabrics, from structured cotton to soft linen to fluid rayon.

        Fantastic!

I adore this skirt. The pattern is so customizable, and the instructions and support are unbeatable. SO worth the small investment! I’ve made three skirts in two weeks!
