Awesome pattern

This is a fabulous pattern, very easy to follow and great way of making the pocket. The pattern is generous in its sizing, and allows for nappies. I have really enjoyed testing this pattern out and have made many of them.

Versatile Pattern

I made the men’s version for my son. He is a horticulturist at our zoo and botanical garden. I used waterproof fabric and seam tape to keep it all waterproof. I added the reinforced knees. He loves them! His friends want me to make them pairs too. I made myself the women’s version to wear in the winter on a vacation to Lake Michigan and they kept me warm.

This pattern is easy to sew and the directions are easy to follow. Great overalls pattern!

the perfect overalls pattern

I made these overalls for my 2 year old grand daughter - what a great pattern. Perfectly sized for growth, easy to get on and off, very stylish design and fun to wear. Also, a very straight forward sew. I'm waiting for gumboots so I can hem them. I used European softshell from wattle hill fabrics. I call them the raindrops overalls.

Fabulous tutorial

I had this pattern for a long time before I finally sewed these. I thought that they would be too hard for me, that soft shell would be too difficult to sew with… And I was wrong! These are a much easier sew than I was expecting, the tutorial is outstanding and the projector file fabulous with mirrored pieces. Highly, highly recommended.

Immersive Play Must-Have

When a pattern is repeatedly cut on your sewing table, that is how you know it is a win. My son LOVED that he did not have to undress to put on this waterproof layer. Once the straps were buckled... he was immersed in play. For the first time in ages, my son had a garment that was so practical that he could get lost in the magic of being a kid. If you have a child with any form of tactile sensory issues, this pattern is an absolute must.

As a testament to Twig & Tale's attention to detail and their inclusivity of scaling to multiple sewists' levels, there are writen instructions and a video tutorial with closed captioning included for creating fully waterproof seams, if your wear-circumstances require them. This pattern was built for full range of movement and emotion in mind; especially the precious moments that build backyard memories.

For disclosure, and perhaps inspiration, my initiative was to find a pattern that could be done in a breathable, lightweight, and waterproof textile that would not roll down at the hips should my son crawl, or be easily pulled down with tugging. The Rainhaven Collection Child Overalls are fantastic for practical play.

* Although I am a 2024 Twig & Tale Storyteller, I purchased this pattern prior to joining the team.

Great little pattern

Really pleased with my first overalls using soft shell also for the first time. Made some teeny tiny ones for my grand daughter to wear in the Melbourne winter when walking the dog. Very easy pattern with great instructions.

Almost perfect

I loved having a pattern for rain pants for my daughter! She needed some for preschool. The pockets are perfect and the instructions are very detailed and helpful. I did have to hem about 3 extra inches but I think that's just my daughter's small height. However, I think the pant legs are way too wide. I made 3T. They would have been unwearable had I not cut a significant portion off the inseam on the legs. I used fleece backed softshell and we love the result!

rainclothes ready for the flood( or just autumn)

the rainhaven pants were probably one of the easiest sews I ever had even with the finicky business of taping the seams and adding reflective piping to the kneepatches. It was literally done in about three hours... Just in time for a trial of fire ( or flood) as I needed to get to my dance class more or less dry.. I combined them with the forester coat which was probably not the best choice for a rainjacket as the curved princess seams are hard to tape but the result looks good and I am happy ( and dry)

fabulous pattern

I’m so happy with this pattern, I work outside with children and wanted some fun rain gear like them! I’ve made two pairs so far, one with a fleece lining and the other simply faced.

The pattern was easy to print and follow and they fit like a dream! Great range of sizes as well.

We are ready for rain

Beautiful pattern, stunniny project. Easy to follow the steps. Once again Twig and tale pattern didn't disappoint. My 2 years old boy loves it because he can go out even in wet day..
