The simple magic of the Traveller Cape pattern is its simplicity; slip it on for warmth getting to and fro, and watch them transform into whomever their heart desires.

Before they take the throne in a land of enchantment, before they set off into the woods with a band of knights, they don a cape and stand tall, heads held high towards the clouds.

Easy to make and easy to wear, it indulges kids' fairytale-esque ways.  Everything from cloak length costumes, to an everyday alternative to a coat, this pattern does it all.

Nothing makes a child's imagination soar quite like a cape...

Traveller cape

Unlimited possibilities to express your creativity with this cape. First travel is for the sewist while sewing it! Tutorial, step-by-step explanations very well done as usual with T&T patterns !

Great pattern, really easy to follow for begginers to. My daughter liked it so much as a costume for carnivale.
Thank you. :)

Awesome Knights costumes!

I immediately fell in love with the Knights costumes, that you can make with the traveller cape pattern, when I saw the pictures. It was a lot of work, because of my choise of fabric every piece has a lining... But it was worth it. Can't wait to see my two sons in it and see their reaction! (It's a Christmas present). The tutorial of the traveller cape was very clear. Thank you!

Two capes for two grandsons

I have two dragon-obsessed grandsons who love to dress up. I thought these might be fun for their adventures. The first one was challenging, but the second cape came together really easily.
I bought two army surplus blankets which after a wash were perfect for the outer capes, and used French Terry from my stash for the lining. Using a walking foot made managing the different fabrics simple, and for the first time, I used my embroidery machine to decorate the pockets.
I’m quietly pleased with the finished capes, but if there’s a next time, I’ll include arm slits.

Reindeer cape

I made this for my granddaughter. She does not like to wear a coat. I used the reindeer add on from the website. This was such a quick and fun sew.

Exactly what I was looking for

Needed a witches cape for Halloween that covered the shoulders and has an ideal drape . Made it of velvet lined with cotton. Gave it only one toggle and large button to make it easier for the child to secure. It really did come out exactly as I had in mind. Pattern easy to follow due to clear instructions.

The perfect starting point

Absolutely wonderful pattern. Very simple pattern pieces. Easy to modify to whatever you need. I made a knights costume for my 4 yr old sons birthday. I planned to make it unlined, but lined it in the end. I made a second cape layer to have a collar for his "helmet". Super easy to incorporate into the make. Super happy with outcome. I used a heavy cotton corduroy.

Perfect little kid's cape!

My first try at this pattern sold immediately online as a kid's Halloween costume, it's that cute! I bought the pattern years ago with every intention to make it, and didn't get around to it until this season. I had a question about attaching the hood, and the design/tech team got back to me right away....turns out I had an older version of the pattern, and they updated it for me AND transferred my purchase history from all of the Twig and Tale designs I'd bought through Etsy, over to the main T&T account page. Outstanding customer service!!!
