Best most comfortable pants ever!

I have just finished making the Fernway culottes and they are the most comfortable pants I have ever had. They are very practical and versatile. I have sewn a number of your patterns recently and once again, these were a pleasure to sew. The instructions were very clear and I appreciated the fitting instructions especially how to tailor the rise. Thank you Twig and Tale!

I tinkered with the pattern and LOVE the end results!

After I purchased this pattern, I read the reviews in detail. I noticed a discrepancy between people who absolutely adore these pants and people who feel that too much fabric was used, making them look too big!

I am going to start by telling everyone I am overweight by 12 lbs or 5.4 kg. I printed out all the sizes and when I taped the pattern pieces together, I noticed the legs became very wide once the sizing moved into overweight territory. So, I decided to use the last size printed for skinny people and modify it. This meant my front darts were smaller and I did a buttock modification on the back pieces. I actually looked it up, online, how to do this modification because these are the first pants I have sewn. I have sewn and modified blouses but never pants.

I love the end results. I wish I made full-length coulettes instead of shorts but they are oh so cute!

I initially measured at a size H but made the pants in size F, with a butt modification.

Very nice pattern once you modify the rise.

I wanted a few pair of shorts for the upcoming hot and humid summer months to prevent chafing as i walk a lot. I really liked the fact that those looked like a skirt.

I had to modify the rise by 2 inches and then to add 1,5 inches to the length in order to truly separate those thighs who just happen to love each other too much. The waist now sits confortably on my natural waist. I was in between sizes and I decided on the smaller one and it is more than loose.

I would like to see options in the pattern for a low or normal rise and normal or high waist. Thankfully, T&T patterns are really easy to modify. I also made the front pockets bigger.

I will definitely make a lot of those !

Fabulous pattern

Made 2 pairs for my sister who is a curvy lady and they look great on her. First pair in cotton was meant to be a tuille but is totally wearable. The second in a mid weight viscose which hang beautifully and are very flattering. The pattern, as always, is spot on and so easy to follow. I love Twig and Tale and hope there may be a sleeve addition to the forrester vest on the horizon - please??? Keep up the good work.

I only took 1 star off because…..

Okay, I’m going to start with all of the positives of this experience. I learned lots; to print off a pattern and put it together, sew pleats, sew a double elastic waist (I love that part). So for that I think it was a success. I did happen to use a knit fabric and it was very voluminous in the waist and hips so much so that all parties agreed it was best that I use this fabric for another project. But that’s okay, I learned and that’s a good thing! :)

New wardrobe favourite!

I love the pattern, it was so easy to assemble...
my printer has a known scale issue, so i sized down accordingly and they came out beautiful!

i did wing it with the waistband as the instructions seemed fiddly... but im over the moon with the fit, how it feels breezy, and makes my legs look super long

Loved these!

I'm an adult beginner (I've only got two months of machine sewing under my belt) and these went together easily! I'm really happy with how they turned out, but fabric selection is absolutely key. I like a more of a high waist so if I make these again I'll probably adjust the rise to accommodate - fortunately I can adjust the waist height by just changing the elastic length to fit my true waist, which make this super simple.

Great Base!

I mashed the Fernways with the Pixie Romper bib and love them! The Fernway Pattern are just like the rest of Twig and Tale patterns - well drafted and beautifully written.

My new favorite pants

These were easy to sew in a day. The instructions were clear (as always!) and I love that there are videos for the different steps. I didn't have to modify them at all and they are comfortable.
